If you’re a theater junkie who can’t make it out to the Big Apple to catch Jaja’s African Hair Braiding’s final week of performances, here’s how you can enjoy the Broadway experience right from home.
What is Jaja’s African Hair Braiding about?
Jaja’s African Hair Braiding chronicles a single day inside Jaja’s lively Harlem braiding salon, where an eclectic band of West African immigrants work magic on the neighborhood women’s hair. The play serves as a snapshot into the vibrant lives of the women in the community, from conflicts between braiders to impending wedding plans to all the dreams and secrets in between.
The new play opened on Broadway on Oct. 3 and has received rave reviews — and two extensions. It was originally set to close on Oct. 29, then was previously extended to Nov. 5. Now, audiences get the chance to see it through Nov. 19 and see what all the buzz is about.
When is Jaja’s African Hair Braiding streaming?
MTC’s extended world premiere of Jaja‘s will live stream its final week of performances from Nov. 14 through 19 worldwide from Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Broadway.
